“I See You” is a bold, visually arresting design featuring the portrait of a Black man—arms folded, gaze steady behind reflective aviator shades. The mirrored lenses invite the viewer into a moment of self-awareness, while the backdrop—black and white stripes fused with chain imagery—evokes a reimagined flag, symbolizing both the weight of history and the resilience of identity. The muse for this work is my friend and colleague, Loni Berry—a man whose life and career embody the very essence of visibility, strength, and transformation. With more than 30 years as an educator, Berry was the founding headmaster of Oakland School for the Arts in California. He is a director, playwright, and musician whose work has graced regional stages across the United States. Educated at Brown University and the Yale School of Drama, Berry continues to shape lives globally and has been recognized by Thailand Tatler as one of the country’s leading expats. This design is more than a tribute—it is a declaration. It speaks to the power of being seen and the responsibility of seeing others fully. It honors those who break chains, create change, and leave space for others to do the same. It is a call for reflection—both personal and collective. For me, “I See You” represents the quiet power of presence, the strength in self-knowledge, and the enduring impact of those who dare to lead with vision and heart.
